Everyday stress. Confusion. Lack of meaning. Muscle aches. Menstrual cramps. Reiki addresses all of it.
Reiki is a Japanese energy technique that channels multiversal energy to heal — an intelligent energy that goes exactly where it is needed. Whether you are carrying the weight of chronic stress, searching for clarity and purpose, managing physical pain, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, Reiki meets you there.
Sessions are conducted seated in a chair with no touch required. No prior training, no preparation, no experience necessary — only an open mind and a willingness to receive. Most people leave feeling a peace they did not know was still available to them.
Ki — Life Energy
Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a Japanese healing art rooted in the Jikiden tradition — the most direct and unaltered lineage of Reiki as it was originally taught in Japan. The word combines Rei (universal wisdom) and Ki (life energy) — the same vital force known as chi in Chinese medicine and prana in Ayurveda.
What makes Reiki unique is its intelligence. Unlike meditation or chi kung, where you work to generate and circulate energy yourself, Reiki arrives as an external, responsive force — drawn through the practitioner and delivered precisely where the body needs it most. It doesn't follow instruction. It simply knows.
Many people first find their way to Reiki through meditation, yoga, or chi kung. As those practices deepen, the awareness of ki moving through the body becomes impossible to ignore — and with it, the appetite for something more. Reiki is that next step: deeper, more direct, and profoundly restorative.
Rei — Universal Wisdom
Sessions are conducted with you comfortably seated in a chair — no need to lie down or remove clothing. Simply wear loose, comfortable attire and arrive ready to relax.
Jikiden Reiki sessions are non-contact — the practitioner works with hands hovering above the body, never touching. Many clients report sensations of warmth, tingling, or waves of deep relaxation.
Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes. Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit. Afterward, drinking water and resting is encouraged to support the integration process.
No prior experience with Reiki, energy work, meditation, or any healing practice is required. You do not need to believe in it for it to work. Come exactly as you are.
Sessions take place in a calm, peaceful environment. Soft music or silence supports the healing atmosphere. Your comfort and sense of safety are the highest priority throughout.
After your session, there's space to share your experience and ask any questions. Every person's response to Reiki is unique — Brett will guide you with care.
My path to Reiki was not linear — I came to Reiki through meditation and yoga, and a desire to find meaning and connectedness. From my very first session, something shifted: a recognition that there is something a lot bigger than us, and yet at the same time something that is part of us. This brought an amazing sense of peace, groundedness, and an appreciation for so many things often overlooked in our hectic day-to-day lives.
I searched for instructors and was able to complete my Reiki II and Reiki III formal certifications under Akiko Hoshihara — a Japanese Reiki master trained in the Jikiden lineage, the most direct and unaltered transmission of Reiki as it was originally practiced in Japan.
Over the years, the work has expanded to encompass study across energy healing, spirituality, and the nature of consciousness — always in service of one goal: helping people reconnect with themselves, find relief from what is weighing on them, and remember that wholeness is not something to be achieved, but something already present, waiting to be uncovered.
